Today, Google announces its latest holiday campaign featuring style icons and fashion favourites to promote their, try it on with Google feature as the best tool to shop your vibe this holiday season.
Google’s try on tool uses custom image generation to show how different styles and fashion trends look on you from just one photo. Simply snap a pic, and Google will harness the power of AI to help you virtually try billions of garments on, simply from a photo.
Launched initially in 2023, Google has improved this technology, making its depictions truer to life than ever, as well as allowing users to layer clothing upon clothing to piece together an entire outfit!
Created in collaboration with SHADOW, the campaign showcases a star-studded cast of fashion icons, which will be released over the following days. The first short features none other than Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker shopping for the perfect holiday dress for her friends’ downtown party.
The clip echoes true Sex and the City nostalgia with Carrie’s classic inner monologue that voices her search as she uses Google’s new try-on feature to find the perfect fit, who said a holiday dress can have too many bows, right?
The rest of the campaign across TikTok, instagram and YouTube features other style stars and pop culture favourites such as Lindsey Lohan, Ashley Graham, Olivia Palermo, Hannah Bronfman, and Lucien Laviscount. Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union will also feature in a 60-second spot that will be released on the 19th.
Google isn’t stopping there with the festive fun. On Christmas Day at 4:30 pm ET, the brand will debut a video that highlights the top search trends that have defined Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things since its debut in 2016.
This 2-minute breakdown will air during the NFL on Netflix game between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, so be sure to check out the game and Google’s YouTube channel on the big day to view the short.
