Last weekend, Edinburgh commuters experienced something truly special as Blank Street brought its immersive tram stop pop-up to the heart of the city. Merging Edinburgh’s rich tram history with a touch of nostalgia, the popular coffee chain made its debut in Scotland in a way that no one would forget.
To celebrate its expansion, Blank Street transformed an ordinary, chilly commute into something magical, offering free drinks to passersby on Princes Street. The pop-up, cleverly dubbed the Express Line, allowed lucky commuters to collect tickets and choose from two of Blank Street’s fan-favorite beverages: Blueberry Matcha and Daydream Latte.
While sipping on their drinks, visitors were invited to relax in the cozy waiting area of the pop-up tram stop, with many taking the opportunity to strike their best pose for a quick photo. It was a moment of pure fun amid the hustle and bustle of the city.

But the experience didn’t end there. Every ticket issued at the tram stop was stamped, allowing commuters to redeem a discounted drink at Blank Street’s new stores on Victoria Street or Princes Street—the perfect way to continue the journey after the pop-up ended.
Scotland marks the third country in Blank Street’s global expansion, and the brand’s arrival in Edinburgh is part of a growing presence across the globe.
Blank Street’s success has already earned it a buzz-worthy reputation, and with this unique, nostalgia-driven activation, it’s clear the brand knows how to capture attention and spark excitement.
If you missed the pop-up, be sure to check out one of their new stores in Edinburgh for your next caffeine or matcha crave.
